Mockingjay Part 1, starring Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, Hunger Games), Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games, Bridge to Terabithia), Liam Hemsworth (Hunger Games, The Expendables 2), Woody Harrelson (Hunger Games, No Country for Old Men), Donald Southerland (Hunger Games, Mash), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Hunger Games, Capote), Julianne Moore (Crazy Stupid Love, The Kids are all Right), and Stanley Tucci (Hunger Games, The Transformers: Age of Extinction).

So this takes off where the last movie left us, with Katness (Jennifer) being taken into the rebel camp to lead them in an uprising against the government.  it was an OK movie, but they split this last part into a couple of long-drawnout segments, and it dragged some, over a two hour movie.  The characters are all like they were in the first two parts, Donald S is the leader of the government, Katness is the rebellion leader, aided by Liam, Woody, others.  Stanley is still the TV idiot with an unbelievable amount of hair, the only difference is that Petra (Jennifer's love from the first two) is now in the city, and it looks like he is working for the Donald.  Switched sides.

we have the usual scenes where Katness is shooting down a jet plane with a bow and arrow (right!), fighting for her life while outnumbered, but still comes out on top.  The drama flows around Josh (Petra) who is constantly being interviewed by Tucci on this huge TV system, asking Katness to come in, stop the rebellion.  She cannot believe he has turned, but it sure looks like it.  While we don't know the end result, we see the rebels first attacking the city, blowing up the hydro power, leaving the entire city in darkness including their defense system.

The government army attacks back, as we would expect, bombing the rebel compound.  Much of this is not so exciting, actually sort of dull.  They really wanted to draw out the story, making a two part movie out of one.  We thought is was OK< but not nearly as good as the first two, go with 2.5 bluebirds!
